What happened, in summary

Jeff was diagnosed with lung cancer at age 34 after months of worsening back pain that sometimes became debilitating. Targeted therapy eased the physical burden of the disease and helped restore his mobility. Two and a half years later, he and his partner were continuing daily family life while raising two toddlers.

The improvement did not remove the mental weight of living with cancer. Jeff and his partner understood that targeted therapies may not work indefinitely, making it difficult to plan far into the future. They responded by concentrating on the time they had together and being present for the ordinary moments of young family life.

For their family, participating in Breathe Deep TOGETHER became both an advocacy effort and a yearly milestone. Raising funds and awareness offered a practical way to support better treatment options, while returning to the event marked another year of life, friendship, and family memories beyond the diagnosis.
