A man had undergone laparoscopic right hemicolectomy in 2016 for colon adenocarcinoma classified as Dukes C1, pT4N1M0, with complete resection.
He later developed persistent discomfort and creamy, blood-stained discharge from the right ear. The problem was initially treated as otitis externa with topical and oral antibiotics, but it did not improve. Examination found a fragile polyp-like mass in the external auditory canal that bled during cleaning.
The lesion represented metastatic colorectal adenocarcinoma in the external auditory canal, an uncommon site of spread.
