Savannah Kaspar said she had sensed that something was wrong, but she never expected colorectal cancer. The diagnosis stopped her in her tracks and placed her among the growing number of people facing colorectal cancer before age 50.
Savannah received care at MD Anderson and remembered the nurses and doctors as kind and responsive, especially when treatment side effects needed attention. The short video did not identify her treatment modalities, so her journey is centered on the impact of diagnosis and the support she received.
She later described herself as a colorectal-cancer survivor and continued working at MD Anderson. Her experience made the institution’s mission more personal and strengthened her message to others: persistent or concerning symptoms deserve medical evaluation.
