What happened, in summary

Mujer Valiente, a mother of two from Colombia, was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer after fatigue and pain in her toenails and back led to repeated medical consultations. When she was initially told nothing was wrong, she arranged a mammogram and saw a mastologist, whose examination and biopsy established the diagnosis.

She selected a treatment plan that included mastectomy, lymphadenectomy, radiation therapy, and hormone therapy. Chemotherapy was initially recommended but later removed from the plan. Hormone therapy remained ongoing at the time of her story. Diarrhea, fatigue, and hair loss were her most difficult treatment effects, and she focused on improving her nutrition.

She made a healthier diet a permanent part of daily life. Cancer reduced intimacy with her partner and ended family trips, although she continued to spend substantial time with her children. Faith and her daughters helped her move forward. She encouraged others to remain positive, eat despite reduced appetite, and avoid allowing thoughts of death to dominate their lives.
