What happened, in summary
Sanjana was diagnosed with Stage I breast cancer about 2 years ago after breast thickening, swelling and sudden pain prompted her to seek medical attention. Her treatment journey included chemotherapy, radiation therapy and hormone therapy, and she says she has completed treatment. Hair loss and weight changes were among the effects that affected her most, and she used medication to help manage treatment-related symptoms. The financial burden was also significant because insurance did not cover all of her costs, leaving friends and family to help with bills. During and after treatment, Sanjana focused on healthier eating and increased exercise, while giving up alcohol.
