What happened, in summary
Catriona was 62 when bleeding from her nipple led to a stage 1 breast cancer diagnosis in July 2023. She had not expected cancer and was surprised by the news. The experience prompted her to reassess her priorities and how she wanted to use her time.
Following her doctor's recommendations, Catriona underwent a mastectomy and received hormone therapy. Fatigue was the main side effect she described, and she managed it without additional treatment. She tried to keep as much of her normal routine as possible, including spending time and traveling with her children.
