A woman was diagnosed with Stage I cancer in her left breast in 1994. She underwent a segmental mastectomy followed by radiation to the breast.
Four years later, she developed a separate primary cancer in the right breast, distinct from the earlier left-breast cancer.
During evaluation for new right-hand weakness many years later, imaging in January 2019 found no evidence of breast-cancer recurrence or a soft-tissue mass involving the brachial plexus. No recurrence of the left-breast cancer was found.
