Fiorella was a young mother balancing work and raising her 5-year-old when she found a small lump in her breast. The finding disrupted everyday life quickly. Her doctor considered it suspicious, and Fiorella entered a breast cancer journey that included difficult conversations with family and friends, seeking a second opinion, and learning how to take a more active role in her care. Cancer pushed her into a new kind of decision-making, where asking questions and building support mattered as much as getting through appointments. Over time, that experience changed how Fiorella saw her role as a patient. She moved from fear and uncertainty toward a stronger sense of self-advocacy. That transformation eventually shaped her work in Argentina. Fiorella became president of VICARE GU, described as the first Argentine association for patients, family members, and friends affected by genitourinary cancers, including kidney, bladder, prostate, testicular, and penile cancers. Although her own diagnosis was breast cancer, her advocacy expanded across cancer communities. As of July 2025, Fiorella was sharing her story to encourage patients, especially in Latin America, to seek support, ask questions, and connect with others instead of facing cancer alone. Her message is that community can turn isolation into practical strength during and after cancer.
