PatientSavvy is designed to be privacy-light.

We do not ask visitors to create accounts. We do not ask visitors to submit medical records. We do not sell visitor information. We do not process payments. We do not knowingly collect health information directly from visitors.

PatientSavvy's purpose is to help visitors discover cancer stories and then read more from the original source. We classify, organize, label, and summarize information from publicly available source materials, and we link visitors back to the original publishers whenever possible.

This Privacy Policy applies to patientsavvy.org and any pages, features, or services that link to this Policy.

This Policy does not apply to third-party websites, hospitals, media publishers, research sites, video platforms, podcast platforms, social media platforms, or other external sources that may be linked from PatientSavvy. When you click a link to an original source or external website, that third party's own privacy policy applies.

PatientSavvy does not currently require visitors to provide the following to browse the website:

PatientSavvy does not claim that this information comes directly from the patient unless the original source indicates that. We do not verify every detail independently with the patient, author, publisher, or treating clinician.

We may request additional information to confirm that the request is legitimate. We will review removal and correction requests in good faith and may remove, update, de-index, or restrict content where appropriate.

We do not sell personal information.

We may share limited information only in the following situations:

Some original-source stories may involve pediatric cancer or young patients if the story was publicly published by an original source. If a patient, parent, guardian, source owner, or authorized representative wants such content removed or corrected, they may contact us.

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.

Technical logs may be retained for a limited period for security, debugging, and operational purposes. Contact-request records may be retained as needed to respond to the request, document the outcome, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.

Public story metadata may remain on PatientSavvy unless it is removed, corrected, replaced, or no longer needed for the website.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect the website and information processed through it.

No website, hosting system, email system, or internet transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

PatientSavvy may be accessed from different countries. Information may be processed in the country where our website, hosting provider, service providers, or operators are located.

By using PatientSavvy, you understand that information may be processed outside your country of residence, subject to applicable law.
